Collapsed Russian Cake (Razvalini)



I hope you guys had a wonderful Thanksgiving with lots of yummy food!!!! We went down to South Carolina to celebrate with my husbands family and had a wonderful time. Also if you used any of my recipes for your dinner i would really appreciate it if you would write some reviews in the comment sections! I honesty feel like I’m talking to myself half the time so when I get comments from you guys it honestly means the world to me :)

I posted a teaser of this a few weeks ago on Instagram and I know a lot of you are waiting for this one! Its perfect for all these holiday parties coming up, I grew up eating this dessert and i absolutely love it, been making it since i was a teen so its very simple, all of you guys will be able to make this one with no problem :)

Collapsed Russian Cake (Razvalini)

White Cake Mix:

  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • ½ Cup Sour Cream
  • 2 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 2 Cups Flour

Chocolate Cake Mix:

  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 2 Tsp Cocoa
  • ½ Cup Sour Cream
  • 2 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 2 Cups Flour


  • 3 Cups Sour Cream
  • 8 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 ½ Big Containers of Cool Whip (24 oz)  (1 litre Container (16 oz)



  1. Preheat oven to 350°
  2. Line a large baking pan with wax paper/parchment paper
  3. To a bowl add 4 eggs and 1 cup sugar. Blend for 10 minutes then add the sour cream, baking powder and flour and blend until smooth.
  4. Add the ready cake mix to the lined baking pan and bake for about 15-25 minutes until its starting to golden brown and tooth pick comes out clean.
  5. Once the cake is ready remove from pan and parchment paper and let cool.
  6. Meanwhile use the same instructions for the vanilla cake but don’t forget to add in 2 tsp of cocoa.
  7. Once the cakes are ready and  cooled off cube the cake and try to keep them the same size.
  8. Then to a bowl add 3 cups of sour cream and 8 tbsp pf sugar and mix/blend very well until sugar has dissolved and then mix in the cool whip.
  9. Add the cubed cake’s and cream to a large bowl and mix carefully and evenly then add to your bowl or dish you will serve in.
  10. Sprinkle with cocoa and let it sit for an hour.
  11. Enjoy
