Cream of Mushroom Sauce Recipe

You will ever want to buy cream of mushroom after you try my recipe. It’s absolutely delicious and creamy and makes the perfect topping for mashed potatoes or pasta! I absolutely love making this topping to serve with BBQ chicken on the side!

  • 15 champagne mushrooms,sliced thinly
  • 1/2 onion, finely diced
  • 2 cups whipping cream(heavy cream)
  • 1 cup green onions,chopped
  • 2 tbs canola oil
  • 1 1/2 tbs flour
  • 1/2   tsp salt(salt to preference)
  • freshly ground pepper

  1.  Add the mushrooms to a pan with the canola oil
  2. On medium heat saute for about 5 minutes, until juices start coming out of the mushrooms.
  3. Add the onions, mix occasionally and saute for about 5 minutes or more, until most of the juices evaporate
  4. Pour in the whipping cream and let it come to a light boil
  5. Then add the green onions
  6. Salt and pepper
  7. Keep on heat for another 5 minutes, mixing it
  8. Add the flour and whisk all together
  9. Serve hot

This sauce serves 4-6
