Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

Yesterday we had our very first snow fall(i know sooo exciting) so this was the perfect soup to make. I love making this soup on rainy or snowy days:) It just warms you up and its very comforting and healthy!

  • Half a chicken
  • 14 cups water
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 1 cup pasta(mini¬†bow ties)
  • 1 tsp Mrs dash
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • salt and pepper( to preference)
  • 1/4 cup fresh herb(parsley or dill)

  1. Cut up the chicken into pieces, any size you like
  2. Add to a large pot filled with water, add the spices
  3. Once the water has come to a boil let it boil on medium heat for 10 minutes
  4. Drain and rinse the chicken pieces. You can take the bones out if you like but i like mine in
  5. Rinse the pot and add the chicken back in
  6. Add 14 cups of water, add the spices again
  7. Once the soup has come to a boil put on medium low heat and boil for 1 hour
  8. When you have half an hour left add the onions
  9. Add the pasta according to cooking time on the package
  10. Add the carrots on the last 10 minutes
  11. On the last couple minutes add the fresh dill or parsley
  12. Salt to preference i put about 2 tablespoons

This dish serves 4-5
